Booster Sessions
This fall,
Strengthening Families Program Booster Sessions will be presented in two locations, Kane
and Bradford, and will run one evening a week for two weeks. These sessions are for
alumni families and will cover the following topics:
Parents will learn how to:
- use parenting tools to find solutions.
- communicate more effectively.
- avoid arguments with their children.
Youth will learn how to:
- get acquainted with new people.
- respond in conflict situations appropriately.
Families will learn how to:
- understand each other's views on friendship.
- listen and understand each other's points of view.
- have fun in activities and games.
In Bradford, the two sessions
will be on Tuesday, September 25th and Tuesday, October 2nd from 5:30-8:00. These
will be held at the Frezt Middle School. In Kane, the two sessions
will take place on Wednesday, September 26th and Wednesday, October 3rd at the Kane Middle
School.
The format is the same as the SFP sessions.
The evening will start at 5:30 with a meal. At 6:00, parents and youth will
split up and meet with their peers for an hour. Then at 7:00 they will come back
together for the family session.
To sign up, call your local family center (find the numbers here), download
the form in the upper right hand corner box, or fill out the registration form here and it will be sent to an SFP Coordinator. |
