PROSPER
stands for PROmoting School-community-university Paretnerships to Enhance
Resilience. This means that people from the local schools, the
community, and PennState work together to help youth make good decisions about substance
abuse as well as other problem behavior.
In the McKean County communities, this is done
through the Strengthening Families Program (SFP), which is for 5th and 6th grade youth and
their families. Also, each team is working towards begining a school based program called
All Stars for 7th graders (Bradford is currently the only district in the county to be
teaching this program).
To see what each team is working on as well as
results from the surveys taken by families after the Strengthening Families Program is
delivered, check out each teams site in the menu to the left.
